Listed below are all of the events that are sponsored by the 5th Quarter
Club. Each of these events occur
at least once a year and are in need of a Chairperson and volunteers to
assist with these events.
Below are descriptions of each event and the approximate time of year the
event will occur.

Pennsylvania requires community members and parents to obtain clearances in

Senior Leadership Development Day - May 21, 2023
Upcoming seniors come together for leadership development. Chairperson:

Underclassman Day- June 9, 2023
Rising Sophomores and Juniors will have a team bonding event with coaches
and alumni.

Alumni Golf Outing - June 19th, 2023
GV
Friends & Alumni take to the Golf course on a fun day that helps support the
GV football program.

Alumni Night-August, 9, 2023
Event for all GVFB Alumni to come up and watch a football practice.

Camp
Week - August 14 to 18, 2023
Players spend the full week practicing at camp, and sleepover at Valley
Point Church on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Signs-August 16, 2023
“Home of a Jag” signs are created to be placed on the lawns of all Varsity
Jag Football players at the beginning of the new football season to show
Jaguar pride.

Discount Cards/Blitiz Card Night Fundraiser-August 17, 2023
Players sell discount cards during Camp Week in August.

Player Picture Pins, Football Pins- August
Moms
receive pins with their son's picture on it for games; football pins are
given to moms to wear throughout the season.

Night Dinner Coordinator -All Friday Games
Players are fed in the GVHS cafeteria before every Friday night game.

Program Coordinator-Week of Home games
Coordination of game day programs and end of the season program. Players are
given a special program as part of their banquet gift.

Spiritwear
Spirit wear is available for players to purchase prior to the beginning of
the season through an online order process.
Football Jackets will also be available to purchase online.

Framed Jersey Committee
Each
four-year senior player receives a framed replica jersey at the banquet to
commemorate his four years of playing football at GVHS.

Salute to Service: September, 14, 2023
The
Garnet Valley Football team will honor all members of the military and first
responders of the GV Community at the start of the FB Game.

Dad's Night/Pediatric Cancer Night-September 22, 2023
Player’s dads are treated to a pregame pizza dinner & walkthrough with the
team & Coach VanWyk. Player’s dads will wear their sons’ away jerseys to the
game.

Middle School Night-September 29, 2023
Middle School football players will report to the HS at 4:30 to watch the
entire pre-game routine for our football team.

Player’s moms are treated to a pregame dinner & to Football 101 with the
team & Coach VanWyk.

Senior Recognition Night: October 26, 2023
On
Thursday night the week of the last home game, senior players & their
parents are introduced and walk onto the field.

On
the Thursday night following Senior Recognition, senior parents are treated
to dinner in the school cafeteria.

Senior Speech Night

Players gather to hear senior player speeches. This includes freshman, JV &
Varsity team members.

Football Banquet: February 4, 2024
Annual Varsity and JV player banquet held at The Ballroom at the Phoenix.

Freshmen Parent Representative
Freshman parent rep will coordinate banquet plans, which entails a catered
dinner held in the lower level of the cafeteria in November.
Other duties include organizing dessert/drinks donations, order gifts
through spirit wear chairperson, decorate designated areas, and coordinate
junior player volunteers through Coach Van Wyk. Set up & clean up Monday
night pre-game dinner, and assist coach with distribution & collection of
discount cards and roster updates. Additional parent volunteers are needed
for the banquet and pregame dinner. Report the freshman score to the web
coordinator.
